Medical Assistant (Full-Time)

Job Title:  Medical Assistant 
Job Type: Full-time
Location:  Chapel Hill and Durham

Description 
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Medical Assistant to support the daily clinical and administrative operations of our Urgent Care center. In this role, you will help ensure a smooth patient experience by delivering high-quality care and maintaining efficient workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet patients, conduct intake interviews, and accurately record medical histories
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits
  • Maintain, update, and organize medical records and insurance documentation
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
  • Perform phlebotomy and administer medications and immunizations as directed
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure medical equipment is properly cleaned and stocked
  • Coordinate laboratory services and hospital admissions when necessary
  • Handle billing-related tasks, including accounts receivable and payable
  • Prepare and distribute medical correspondence, forms, and reports

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and administering injections/vaccines
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and clinical documentation standards
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach
  • Clear written and verbal communication abilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and medical practice management software
